The Town of Bucksport is served by a single Tax Assessor. The Assessor is responsible for the identification and valuation of all real and personal property in the town that is subject to taxation. The Assessor annually prepares a list of assessments and commits these assessments to the Tax Collector for collection of the funds appropriated for the budget. The Assessor reports the results of her activity for the year to the State of Maine, Department of Revenue Services. The Assessor is an agent of the State, governed by state law and town policy. Assessment records are available for public inspection during regular office hours.
