
The Board of Assessment Review consists of three (3) members and two (2) alternates appointed by the Town Council. Each year in the month of March, the Town Council will meet and appoint a new member for each of the outgoing members for a term of three (3) years. The terms shall commence April 1 and end March 31. A member of the Board of Assessment Review must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years old, a legal resident of Bucksport and United States citizen. Current committee members are:

Oliva Jacques - term expires March 31, 2010
Cathy Hamburger - term expires March 31, 2011
The duties of the committee are:

Hear and determine appeals according to the following provision of law:
a. Title 36 M.R.S.A. Section 843.
Meetings will be called by the Chairman upon receipt of a written request for appeal file within sixty (60) days of the decision. The board will render a decision in writing, withink sixty (60) days of the date the application is filed unless the applicant agrees in writing to further delay. All meetings will be open to the public, except for executive sessions as provided under the laws of the State of Maine. Committee meeting notices will be posted at the Bucksport Town Office, on this website and the local new media.
